Australian Maritime Resources was established in 1990 to provide marine oil spill control capabilities and aerial fire bombing. Operational and training facilities are located at Parafield Airport, South Australia with the administration office in Kent Town, Adelaide.

The company is ISO 9001:2000 Quality Assurance accredited and maintains Civil Aviation Safety Authority approvals for operations in the marine environment and at low levels.
